Author E. R. Reilly visits Weston Mill!

1st September 2014

On Monday, we had a visit from an author called Eamonn Reilly. He came to read some of his books and tell us about his characters. He also set the children some writing challenges. These were to write about: winning the children's lottery; describing our den or to write about losing something really precious. He also went to talk to the Foundation Stage children about creating a really yucky magic potion full of snails, worms and tomato ketchup! Their writing challenge was to write about a magic potion, how to make it and where the magic would take you. Children then had an opportunity to buy his books and he came back into school on Wednesday to sign them for each child. Some of his books will be available in the library towards the end of the year, after class teachers have had a chance to read some of them during story time.

If you complete any writing based on Mr Reilly's ideas, please bring them into school and share with your teacher. You might even be able to share your story with your class!
